careful what you wish for

When we lived in England we used to have to stay with my MIL for a couple of days over the holidays and some times we would end up with two Christmas Day dinners, one at my parents at 2:00 and one with MIL at 6:00!! When the kids came along it was such a big deal to have to take all the preses and all the kit we needed for the time away, I used to wish we didn't have to do it although we only lived 180 miles away, that is a long way on English roads!! Now we've 6000 miles away and I got what I wished for, only now I wish we could spend more time with everyone. So my motto now is 'to be careful what you wish for'!
